Jamal Adams doesn’t want to hear excuses or apologies. Not from Drew Brees, Jake Fromm or anyone else making racially insensitive remarks.

The Jets’ All-Pro safety spoke out on Twitter, by quote-tweeting Fromm’s apology and writing: “You and Drew aren’t really sorry. Save the bulls–t ass apologies. The truth just came out, and you two aren’t the only ones!”

Fromm, the rookie Bills quarterback, and Brees have been in the headlines over the last day as protests and looting broke out across the country following the May 25 killing of African American George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer in Minneapolis.

A day after Brees said he would “never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag,” which led to heavy criticism from the likes of LeBron James and teammate Michael Thomas, the 41-year-old wrote an apology on Instagram for his “insensitive” comments. Several of his teammates, including Thomas, spoke out on social media for the need to move on. An anonymous Twitter used posted a screenshot of a few text-messages by Fromm from March of 2019, in which the former Georgia quarterback suggested guns were “good” but that suppressors should be made “very expensive so only elite white people can get them haha.”

Adams has been vocal this week on Twitter, expressing his dismay at the state of race relations in the country he lives in.

“Over the past few days I’ve been struggling with the pain from daily injustices in America,” he wrote  Monday night. “It’s something new every day! I think it’s important to find your peace in all of this and remember self-care and positive energy.

“My heart goes out to the family and friends of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. They’re more than just hashtags. It’s disgusting that we don’t have time to deal with our trauma before the next tragedy. We can’t let these conversations die and can’t forget those we’ve lost.”
