The best places to spend July 4th in 2022

The Fourth of July is coming up, and if you haven't decided where to go yet, you might want to think about San Francisco.

This is what WalletHub found in a recent report about the best places to celebrate Independence Day in 2022. WalletHub's list had San Francisco at the top.

WalletHub compared the 100 most populous US cities based on how they celebrate the 4th of July, how much it costs, what activities and attractions they have, how safe and easy to get to they are, and how the weather will be on the 4th of July.

In the report, the cities were compared using 21 measurements from each of these categories.

WalletHub didn't just look at how a city ranked overall; it also looked at how it ranked in different categories.

For example, the average price of beer and wine was found to be lowest in Durham, North Carolina, and highest in Atlanta, Georgia.

WalletHub found that San Francisco, California, Boise, Idaho, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Greensboro, North Carolina, Newark, New Jersey, and Laredo, Texas, all tied for the city with the fewest DUI-related deaths per capita.

At the same time, Toledo, Ohio, and St. Louis, Missouri, had the same number of DUI-related deaths per person.

The report also found that San Francisco, California, Boise, Idaho, Seattle, Washington, Fremont, California, Sacramento, California, and North Las Vegas, Nevada, were all tied for having the best weather forecast for July 4, while Newark, New Jersey, had the worst.
