The women of “The Bold Type” had the most on-brand night out together ahead of filming the first season of the Freeform show.
Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee and Meghann Fahy revealed during their ATX TV…from the Couch panel that the trio met for the first time in the Big Apple and went to see Stevens’ now-husband, Boys Like Girls guitarist Paul DiGiovanni, perform.
“Then [we] went to a diner until 3 a.m. and had drinks,” Stevens, 27, recalled.
She added, “I think by the first five minutes of being together, I vividly remember us in my hotel room that I was staying at … and I think we, like, peed in front of each other and we were like, ‘Well, here we are.’”
Meanwhile Dee, 26, and Fahy, 30, had previously auditioned together, and like their onscreen characters, supported each other through the process.
“I distinctly remember us sitting in a corner, both feeling pretty insecure about our auditions, I think,” Dee remembered. “Meghann was like, ‘I don’t know if I did a good job,’ and I was like, ‘No, f–k that, you did an amazing job!’”
Fahy laughed, “She really did give me that pep talk!”
“The Bold Type,” which follows a trio of friends working at Scarlet magazine in New York City, returns on June 11.
