Donald Faison and Zach Braff sent a special video message to ATX TV…from the Couch viewers on Saturday after the festival announced they were rescheduling a planned “Scrubs” panel for later this summer.
“Listen, there are a lot of things going on in the world right now,” Faison, 45, explained in the video. “We felt like we wouldn’t necessarily be doing a service to you guys if we came and acted silly in times where we don’t necessarily really think silly is the answer.”
Faison then thanked the festival for allowing them to come back at a different time and for partnering with the nonprofit organization Color of Change amid the ongoing protests across the country following the death of George Floyd while in police custody.
“We promise that we will come and have a really fun panel with the whole cast,” Braff, 45, said. “We don’t want to let anyone down, especially ATX. We hope we can reschedule for the summer sometime.”
The “Scrubs” stars also gave a shoutout to the medical community.
“Let’s not forget that COVID is still happening and there are so many powerful, brave people on the front lines that are fighting this pandemic,” Braff said, before concluding, “Thats it for now, but we promise to see you soon.”
