Celebs are helping to spread awareness of children’s mental health in honor of music exec David Nathan’s son Jack, who died unexpectedly last month at age 19.
Enrique Iglesias, Nick Lachey, Jill Martin and radio host Elvis Duran have all supported Jack’s Happy Jack brand, which he created to raise awareness about kids battling anxiety and mental health issues.
“He eased his anxiety via painting and design by loving and helping others … He was just gaining momentum as he launched Happy Jack, and had already donated $1,000 from initial sales to The Child Mind Institute,” the family told us.
Jack’s father was instrumental in helping Taylor Swift cross over to the mainstream as a music exec at Republic Records, where he worked for 20 years.
Jack’s death was unrelated to mental illness, but the family is dedicated to continuing his mission and “making this world a better place,” they said, using a favorite term of Jack’s. They plan to keep his memory alive by keeping Happy Jack operating and raising money for nonprofits that were important to him.
