“The Joe Rogan Experience,” one of the most popular podcasts in the world, will become a Spotify exclusive.

The digital music service announced Tuesday that it signed the podcast for a multiyear exclusive licensing deal. The series has been the most searched for podcast on Spotify, according to a press release.

Up until now, Rogan’s show has never been available on Spotify. But starting Sept. 1, the podcast will be available on Spotify, as well as all other platforms, Rogan tweeted. At the end of the year, it will move exclusively to Spotify.

Both full audio and video will be available through Spotify. Listeners won’t have to pay to access the episodes but will have to be Spotify users.

Rogan, 52, will still have full creative control over the show, according to the press release.

Last year, Rogan said his show reached about 190 million downloads per month. Moving the show to Spotify will give the platform’s more than 286 million active users access to the show.

The host recently faced some backlash from fans for bragging about his ability to get multiple coronavirus tests on an episode of his podcast with guest Chris D’Elia.

Rogan’s YouTube channel currently has 8.41 million subscribers and is known for hosting high-profile guests including Sen. Bernie Sanders, Elon Musk and Russell Brand, as well as for being the host of NBC’s “Fear Factor.”
