After a record-setting career, Tom Brady has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Tom Brady said Sunday he plans to return to the NFL to play for his 23rd season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Why it matters: The surprise announcement comes after the 44-year-old Brady retired last month.
Driving the news: "These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now," Brady tweeted.

Worth noting: Hours before his Twitter announcement, Brady posted a video of himself with Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo to Instagram stories at the English soccer team's home ground in which the Portuguese player asks: "All good? You’re finished, right?"
