Bill Belichick gets cryptic when asked about Tom Brady Super Bowl phone call

Bill Belichick is keeping the status of his relationship with Tom Brady under wraps.

Bill Belichick is keeping the status of his relationship with Tom Brady under wraps.

On Wednesday, the Patriots head coach was asked point blank if he congratulated the Buccaneers quarterback after his seventh Super Bowl win in February.

“I think I’ll keep those conversations privately between myself and the other people that are involved,” he said.

“Appreciate the question.”

Brady’s latest championship came in his debut season with Tampa Bay after he departed New England in 2020, following 20 seasons and six Super Bowl wins under Belichick.

Meanwhile, Belichick had his first losing season since 2000. The Patriots went 7-9 last season and missed the playoffs in their first post-Brady run.

Brady earned three regular-season MVPs and four Super Bowl MVPs as a Patriot.

Cam Newton took over for Brady when the former Panthers quarterback agreed to a one-year deal with the Patriots in June 2020. Newton struggled with accuracy throughout the season and missed an early-season game while battling COVID-19.

Brady and Belichick will face off in an anticipated reunion on Oct. 3, when the Buccaneers play the Patriots in Week 4.

The matchup, which Brady’s father said he’s “salivating” over, is in Foxborough.
