The Knicks inherited a point guard from Houston and it’s not Russell Westbrook.

With their last roster spot, the Knicks added a fourth point guard in 28-year-old Austin Rivers, who played for the Rockets and is the son of 76ers coach Doc Rivers.

It’s a one-year deal and the Knicks had the cap space to overpay him, though he’s turned into a journeyman after being a 2012 lottery pick at No. 10.

Austin Rivers, who can also play shooting guard, could be a trade pawn at the deadline if the Knicks aren’t in the playoff hunt. Tom Thibodeau coached under Doc Rivers in Boston and they are close.

The Knicks now have four point guards in Elfrid Payton, Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith Jr. The Post has reported the Knicks have looked to trade Smith.

Rivers is yet another client of Creative Artists Agency, the firm Knicks president Leon Rose used to run. In fact, Rivers is repped by Aaron Mintz, who also handles Payton, assumed to be their starting point guard.

Rivers played in 68 games for Houston last season and averaged 8.8 points and 1.6 assists and shot 35.6 percent from 3-point range. He can play both guard positions but he doesn’t move the needle one iota.
