Mekhi Becton is hurt again.
The first-round pick left Monday night’s game against the Patriots to undergo chest X-rays late in the first quarter. He did not return.
The team’s starting left tackle suffered the injury after a 15-yard Frank Gore run. Becton was replaced at left tackle by Chuma Edoga.
Becton, a 6-foot-7, 364-pound mauler, has drawn praise for his play — when he’s been on the field. However, he has already missed two games with a shoulder injury and briefly played in another contest.
