Mekhi Becton, one of the premier offensive tackles in the NFL Draft 2020, who has been linked to both the Jets and Giants, could give teams cause for concern just days before he was set to be picked.

The former Louisville star was one of multiple prospects to have a drug test flagged at the NFL Combine, NFL Network reported Friday. Becton didn’t have any failed drug tests in college, the report said.

He was an All-ACC first team selection this past season, and emerged as a potential top-10 pick in the draft.

Becton will be placed in Stage 1 of the NFL’s Intervention Program for up to 60 days as a result of the flagged test. As long as there are no further issues over the next two months, his slate will be clean.

All 32 teams were made aware of the tests being flagged, and it’s unclear how much this will hurt Becton’s draft status, if at all.

The 6-foot-7, 364-pound Becton ran a 5.1-second 40-yard dash at the combine, impressive for a man his size. It was one of the reasons teams have become so enamored with him.
