Ahead of Friday night’s doubleheader with the Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees announced that Gio Urshela was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right elbow bone spur.

Pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga was also placed on the IL with “a medical condition that prevent him from playing and necessitates placement on the IL.” The Yankees subsequently recalled third basemen Miguel Andujar and right-handed pitcher Miguel Yajure from the alternate site in Scranton.

Urshela and Loaisiga are just the latest Yankees players to fall victim to injury, joining Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge and James Paxton. Stanton was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 31 with a hamstring injury before Judge came out of the lineup due to a calf injury.

Paxton began his throwing program Thursday as works his way back from a forearm injury. Short stop Gleyber Torres is also on the 10-day IL with a hamstring injury.

Urshela has posted a .272 batting average through 103 at-bats with 23 RBI’s. Loaisiga currently owns a 2-0 record with a 3.18 ERA and 20 strikeouts in eight games.
