Patrick Mahomes and girlfriend Brittany Matthews both got rocks on Tuesday.
As the Kansas City Chiefs received their Super Bowl 2020 rings at Arrowhead Stadium on Tuesday, Mahomes, 24, also appeared to work his magic to craft an elaborate proposal to Matthews, who celebrated her 25th birthday on Monday.
“This happened today,” Matthews posted Tuesday evening to her Instagram story, in which Mahomes appeared to pop the question from a suite filled with rose petals and “Will you marry me” lights.
Mahomes, this year’s Super Bowl MVP, also took to social media, where he shared a photo of Matthews’ dazzling engagement ring.
“Ring SZN @brittanylynne,” the Chiefs quarterback shared.
Mahomes and Matthews, a certified personal trainer, have been dating for eight years.
While the carat weight of Matthews’ massive stone is unclear, Mahomes’ ring finger is likely feeling heavy, too. The Chiefs Super Bowl rings all boast “10.5 carats of gemstones, including 255 diamonds and 36 genuine rubies,” according to Kansas City ABC affiliate KMBC.
