Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially changed the name of their Sussex Royal brand to the MWX Foundation, it’s been reported.

The pair agreed to stop using the word “royal” in their branding after stepping down as senior royals earlier this year.

Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan, 39, officially announced their departure as working royals — dubbed “Megxit” — with their new life to begin on April 1.

Paperwork setting out the formal name change has now been published, which revealed it had been registered on August 5, MailOnline reports.

It set out the change from the ‘Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ to the ‘MWX Foundation’, with speculation this could stand for the Markle Windsor Foundation.

The change comes just weeks after the parents to one-year-old Archie filed to change the name of their Sussex Royal charity to MWX, but then withdrew the application just nine minutes later.

Paperwork detailing the formal winding-up of Sussex Royal on Companies House stated it would be renamed the MWX Foundation, while it is dissolved.

But the couple did a U-turn after a notification was issued moments later, confirming the Change of Name Notice had been pulled.

Documents previously filed also revealed a number of directors, including Meghan, had stepped down, which confirmed the charitable foundation is officially being axed.

The directors including The Duchess of Sussex, Gerald Tyrrell, Karen Blackett, Steven Cooper, Kirsty Jones and Stefan Allesch-Taylor left, leaving Harry as the only listed director.

The couple have been linked to the MWX brand before, with the couple setting up MWX Trading Ltd last August.

They registered it at Companies House, and have allegedly used it to apply for trademarks, including Travalyst.

The name change comes after the Queen told them they couldn’t use the word “Royal” in their branding after they quit the Firm.

The pair claimed they wanted to become financially independent and later relocated to North America.

The Sussex Royal foundation was launched on July 1 last year, after the couple split from the foundation they previously shared with Prince William and Kate Middleton, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The couple also announced in April they will be launching a new charity Archewell, which will replace their Sussex Royal brand.

Harry and Meghan said they got inspiration for the name as the Greek word “Arche” means the “source of action.”
