A Williamsburg lingerie shop has its knickers in a twist. It claims that controversial influencer Danielle Bernstein has ripped off its nudes pattern — although she has denied this allegation.
We Wore What doyenne Bernstein was recently accused of blatantly stealing a mask design from small business By Second Wind, a claim that she said was all hot air.
Now the owners of hipster undies emporium the Great Eros say that they believe Bernstein has ripped off their pattern featuring a series of nude women, which they created to use on tissue paper. They claim Bernstein slapped their nudes on wallpaper and $195 bathing suits after they believe she was introduced to their brand by a press agent.
The Great Eros co-owner Christina Viviani tells Page Six that Bernstein’s design “felt so spot on” when compared with theirs, noting the size, poses and spacing of their nudes — which they created with art director Marta Caro and artist Kristen Giorgi — seemed almost identical to the designs by Bernstein, who has 2.5 million followers on Instagram.
“Influencers at her level have such an impact and are abusing their power to influence,” Viviani said. “She is able to bulldoze over brands.”
The other co-owner, Emilio Ramirez, tells us that they want FIT dropout Bernstein to donate the profits from the suspiciously familiar products to charity, apologize and stop selling the products.
After the pair complained about the similarities on Instagram — which was picked up by watchdog Influencers Truth — Bernstein appeared to respond without mentioning the Great Eros by name. She called the nude-pinching accusations “false and unwarranted.”
Bernstein is also currently embroiled in a battle with fashion industry watchdog Diet Prada, and she claims that she has received “death threats.” But Viviani counters, “She’s playing the victim.”
Bernstein and her reps did not comment further.
