Prince Harry was the guiding force in the decision to leave the royal family, a source told The Sun.
Harry reportedly detests the term “Megxit” because it falsely implies the move was orchestrated by his wife Meghan Markle — details The Sun said would be revealed in the upcoming biography, “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family,” out Aug. 11.
“That word ‘Megxit’ in particular has always angered Prince Harry. It gives the impression that the decision to walk away from the Royal Family was Meghan’s,” a source told the British tabloid.
“The reality is Harry drove that decision. The book will make that clear and explain why it had to happen”
Harry had apparently been “unhappy for a long, long time” and “Meghan supported Harry’s decision,” according to The Sun’s source.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been quarantining with their 1-year-old son, Archie, in a Los Angeles mansion owned by Tyler Perry.
The couple has been spotted out and about on a few occasions, either walking their dog or delivering food to needy Californians.
“Finding Freedom,” penned by co-authors Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie, is expected to hit shelves this August, will detail the Harry and Meghan’s decision-making and new life course, the Sun reported.
“The book — as the very woke title suggests — is very much about the ‘journey’ Meghan and Harry are embarking on,” the source said. “It will focus closely on the causes Meghan and Harry want to focus on, and the new life they are leading.”
