Montauk sceney resort Gurney’s is gearing up to open May 15, and sister property Star Island is prepping to open on May 22, we’re told.
The spots plan to provide masks for guests and promise “rigorous cleaning” and “hand sanitizing stations.”
Gurney’s will also expand distance between chairs on its beach, and workout instruction will be available for in-room streaming. The restaurant will be takeout only.
“We are looking and following leads coming out of the governor’s office,” Gurney’s owner George Filopoulos told us. While he admits, “It will be a different Montauk this year … guests who come out will have a great experience. We want to keep them safe.”
A flexible reservation policy will also be implemented.
