This is Lamar Jackson, a cornerback from Nebraska. He is one of three undrafted cornerbacks that the Jets have agreed to terms with as a free agent, according to a source.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas chose Virginia cornerback Bryce Hall in the fifth round of the NFL Draft and traded for Colts cornerback Quincy Wilson on Saturday, but the position still remains one of concern.

Douglas hit the position hard when undrafted free agency arrived with Jackson, Utah’s Javelin Guidry and Alabama’s Shyheim Carter.

Jackson was a three-year starter for the Cornhuskers. He was second-team All-Big 10 last year. He is 6-2, 208 pounds and ran the 40 in 4.59 seconds. He is a physical corner who had three interceptions, two forced fumbles and 12 passes broken up last year.

Guidry ran a blazing 4.25 time in the 40. He is a track sprinter who has dynamic speed. He played primarily in the slot for the Utes. At 5-9 and 191 pounds, he is not a big corner, but his speed makes up for what he lacks in size. He had 48 tackles, six passes broken up and one interception last year.

Carter was a two-year starter at Alabama. He played safety in 2018 before moving to the nickel or Star position in Alabama’s defense. He is 5-10, 194 and ran a 4.50 time in the 40. He played at the Shrine Bowl where Jets assistant Blake Williams was on the coaching staff. He had 43 tackles, seven passes broken up, a forced fumble and an interception.

Cornerback is going to be a fascinating position to watch whenever the Jets get back on the field. The Jets cut both of their Week 1 starting cornerbacks from last year – Trumaine Johnson and Darryl Roberts. In free agency, they signed Pierre Desir and re-signed Arthur Maulet and nickel corner Brian Poole. Desir figures to be one starting corner with Poole locked in at nickel. The other side feels like an open competition, though, with Hall, Wilson, Maulet, Bless Austin, Kyron Brown and Nate Hairston all vying for the starting spot. Maybe one of these three undrafted free agents can crash the party.

The other undrafted free agents the Jets have agreed to terms with, according to a source:

WR Lawrence Cager, Georgia

WR George Campbell, West Virginia

OT Jared Hilbers, Washington

DT Sterling Johnson, Coastal Carolina

DT Domenique Davis, UNC-Pembroke

LB Bryce Huff, Memphis
