Harry Styles is having a rough time in quarantine.
The “Adore You” singer is currently in California after his plans to fly back to Europe for the last leg of his “Love on Tour” were canceled amind the coronavirus pandemic.
“I kind of got stuck here in California,” Styles, 26, said on “Capital Breakfast” with Roman Kemp on Tuesday. “I was supposed to board a flight home, but on that exact day, the US decided to cancel all flights, so I just had to stay here.”
“I’m really sad that I have to cancel it,” he added. “I was really looking forward to coming home and spending some time with my mum and sister, and my family, but it’s for the best.” Styles’ mother, Anne, and his sister, Gemma, both reside in the United Kingdom.
The chart-topping crooner was set to have performance dates in the UK on April 15, but now those shows have been postponed until 2021.
“I think, honestly, it’s obviously disappointing, but it’s not even close to being the most important thing right now,” Styles said of the change. “I think everybody understands — it’s not like there’s anything you can do about it. I think the most important thing right now is to keep everybody safe.”
“I have to do that for all of our crew, as well as the fans coming to the shows. I don’t want to go to a show right now, if this is the thing.”
On the bright side, Styles hints that he may have new music to release — once he’s able to get back into a studio again.
When asked if he had any new hobbies, he said: “Well, I haven’t exactly taken up any strange or new hobbies exactly. But I have been writing a lot more. I haven’t really had a lot of time off or to myself the past while, so I now have a chance to do all the stuff that I should have been doing anyway.”
“I should be playing the guitar more. I should be writing poems and lyrics more. So, I’ve been doing a lot of that.”
