Is DeAndre Hopkins on the trading block?

The Texans star receiver could be on the move as the NFL free agency legal tampering period opens Monday, according to NFL Sports’ Peter King, who noted “two teams over the weekend told me” to keep an eye out for the possibility.

Hopkins, a four-time Pro Bowler, signed a five-year, $81 million extension in 2017 with $49 million guaranteed. He finished last season with 104 receptions for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns.

Houston’s motivation revolves around what King called “draft hell” with the team not having a top-50 selection in the next two drafts.

Should the 27-year-old Hopkins be made available, the Patriots could be a potential landing spot as the offense is in need of a boost following the sudden departures of Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon last season, as well as Rob Gronkowski’s retirement.

The Patriots — who currently hold the 23rd selection in this year’s draft — have more pressing issues at hand, namely Tom Brady’s future. The 42-year-old quarterback is slated to hit the market Wednesday for the first time in his NFL career.
