Harvey Weinstein asks the judge to stop the prison dentist from taking out his bad teeth

No justice! Nothing!

Harvey Weinstein's rotten molars have become a dental "emergency," so he wants to see a private dentist because prison medics will just pull them out and leave big holes in his mouth.

After being wheeled into a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday, the former movie producer begged a judge, "This is an emergency." "I'll pay the dentist... There will be one and only one trip."

LA Superior Court Judge Lisa Lench pointed out that Weinstein had been to the medical bay at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he is being held until his Oct. 10 trial on charges that he sexually assaulted five women between 2004 and 2013, twice but hadn't solved his problems.

Mark Werksman, Weinstein's lawyer, said that the dentists in jail gave him two options: either pull the teeth without replacing them or let them keep getting worse.

The 70-year-old man, who has been in prison for 23 years after being found guilty of sex crimes in New York, argued that he should be allowed to wear a bridge or fake teeth at his trial so that he would look "presentable."

“I’m in pain every day. I have cavities and I can’t eat because I’m missing teeth,” the former movie producer said.

Werksman said that denying Weinstein dental care would be a violation of his constitutional rights and that a gaping hole in the front of his teeth makes him look "ridiculous" and "like a caricature."

Judge Lench told Weinstein that even though he could pay to get himself to and from a private dentist, it would still take work from the Sheriff's Department, which made his request unusual. Lench didn't think Weinstein looked stupid, but she told Werksman to write a request for the dental work for her to look over.

The original goal of the hearing was for prosecutors to ask that two witnesses who live in Italy testify by video instead of in person during the trial.

Lubov Smirnova, who worked for one of Weinstein's accusers and her family, was told to show up in person by the judge. Pascal Vicedomini, the second witness, will be able to appear by video because of his health.

Lench had already turned down Weinstein's request to delay his trial because the movie "She Said," which comes out on November 18 and is about how the sexual assault allegations against him came to light, could sway the jury.

After a Manhattan jury found Weinstein guilty of forcing oral sex on former "Project Runway" production assistant Miriam "Mimi" Haleyi in 2006, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison in March 2020.

Weinstein argued the dental work is necessary for him to look "presentable" at his Los Angeles trial.

In 2013, Weinstein was also found guilty of sexually assaulting a hairdresser named Jessica Mann.

He was found not guilty of two counts of predatory sexual assault for allegedly raping actress Annabella Sciorra in the mid-1990s.

Last month, New York's highest court agreed to hear Weinstein's appeal of his conviction, in which he plans to say that he had an unfair trial.
