Charles III will be shown on money and coins

In the UK and other Commonwealth countries, money will never look the same again.

The Guardian says that it would take about two years to recall and replace the 4.5 billion bank notes in the UK that show Queen Elizabeth II's face with ones that show King Charles.

The Bank of England says, however, that plans to change the pound are still secret.

"The Queen will still be accepted as money. "Once the period of mourning is over, the Bank of England will say more about its current banknotes," it said in a statement on Thursday.

The Canberra Times says that most coins in Australia show Charles III with his face turned to the left. This is the opposite of the coins that show his late mother, which are turned to the right.

The Bank of England has rejected calls to scrap new banknotes that contain traces of animal fat. The bank said Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, it will continue to issue polymer notes that contain tallow, a rendered form of animal fat.
It would reportedly take two years for bank notes featuring Queen Elizabeth II to be recalled and replaced.

The report says that Charles II started the "about-face" tradition in 1660. This is when a new royal faces the opposite direction of the one who came before them.

Down Under, it is said that coins with Elizabeth and her son would both be in circulation.

Bloomberg said that Canada's $20 bills and coins would still show the Queen until the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau decides to show her successor.
