Johnny Depp's rumored appearance at the 2022 MTV VMAs has been confirmed

Johnny Depp's appearance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will be one to remember.

A person who works on the show told The Post that the 59-year-old star will dress up as a real-life Moon Person, which is the silver astronaut statue that the VMA winners get.

When The Post reached out to Jack Sparrow's team, they wouldn't say anything, but a source told us that the actor is set to appear via video.

A source said that Depp is "really excited" to be at the VMAs and "ready for his comeback."

Even though he went on tour with rock star Jeff Beck in Europe this summer, this will be Johnny Depp's first time in front of the camera since his ex-wife Amber Heard sued him for libel.

Depp won the case in a court of law, but Heard's lawyers have filed a notice of intent to appeal the jury's decision, which said that she should pay Depp more than $10 million in damages. Nearly two months after the case ended, in July, thousands of shocking documents that had been kept secret were made public. These documents included texts between Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson, as well as what seemed to be an attempt by his team to bring up his ex-"brief wife's stint as an exotic dancer" at trial.

Depp will be at an event on Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The show will be hosted by LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow.

Minaj will also get the Video Vanguard Award, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will get the Global Icon Award.

Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Nas X all got seven nominations, which was the most. Doja Cat and Harry Styles are close behind with six nominations each. Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd all got five nominations.

The bands Blackpink, J Balvin, Lizzo, and Panic! All of Panic! at the Disco will be there.
