Duane Brown, a former Seattle Seahawk, was detained at LAX airport with a gun in his luggage
Duane Brown, a former offensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks, was detained at LAX airport while carrying a revolver.
The 6'4", 300-plus-pound free-agent lineman was allegedly carrying a hidden weapon while passing through security at Terminal 6 screening, according to airport officials who confirmed the incident to ABC News.
Russell Wilson once referred to Brown as "one of the best left tackles in the game" after the five-time Pro Bowler tried to enter the airport with a gun concealed in his luggage, according to TMZ Sports, which broke the news of Brown's arrest.
Sources told the newspaper that the gun wasn't loaded.
Photos depict Brown, 36, being handcuffed and led out of the airport by police.
According to TMZ, he is allegedly facing charges for having a concealed weapon.
Brown, a Virginia Tech product, played with the Houston Texans for his first 10 seasons before spending the final five with the Seahawks. After last season, in which he made the Pro Bowl, he became a free agent.
Earlier this year, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that his organization was still in contact with Brown. John Schneider, the general manager of Seattle, speculated that Brown may put off contract talks until the start of training camp.
