Drew Barrymore couldn't help but think of her beautiful 1998 movie 'Ever After' when she thought about her friend Britney Spears' wedding.
"What I learned from the movie Ever After is that we have to save ourselves, even though we still want a fairy tale. And Britney did exactly that!" Barrymore, who is 47 years old, posted photos from the event to Instagram on Friday night. One of the photos shows Selena Gomez sitting between the bride and a talk show host.
She ended by saying, "I couldn't be happier for her brave journey!!!" She then described her outfit for the event, which included a chocolate Valentino couture gown.
Spears' trip to the altar has been a long one. When she was under conservatorship before, she couldn't get married or have kids.
Since the end of her guardianship, Spears' relationship with her new husband, Sam Asghari, has been going well.
Madonna, Paris Hilton, and Donatella Versace, who made Spears' dress for her fairy-tale wedding, were also at the party, along with Barrymore and Gomez.
But Spears's estranged parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, as well as her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, and her sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, were not there.
Bryan Spears, who is her brother, is said to have been invited, but it doesn't look like he was there either.
The pop star, who was 40, and Asghari, who was 28, were together for almost five years before they got engaged in September 2021.
