Kate Beckinsale's Best Clap Backs

Kate Beckinsale has clap backed at Instagram users multiple times over the years — read her best comebacks

Kate Beckinsale is no stranger to a clapback! The actress never shies away from the opportunity to defend herself — especially if a troll comes for her relationship.

Beckinsale has made headlines for her love life over the years. The Underwood star dated Michael Sheen from 1995 to 2003. They share daughter Lily. After their breakup, Beckinsale started seeing director Len Wiseman. The duo tied the knot in May 2004, but called it quits after 11 years of marriage in November 2015.

Following her divorce, Beckinsale was linked to actor Matt Rife, who is more than 20 years younger than her. The on-again, off-again pair were last spotted together in 2018. The Serendipity star moved on from Rife with comedian Pete Davidson, who is also 20 years her junior, but the fling ended after less than four months.

“Kate is a lot of fun and loves embracing her youthful side,” a source told Us Weekly in February 2019. “She’s always the life of the party and likes going out, dancing and hanging out around young people at hip places.”

The Guilty Party alum’s joy for life has led some online to think they can offer their two cents on how she should behave at her age — something Beckinsale has no time for.

“It can feel like a little bit of a political act to be a woman over 32 who’s having any fun at all,” she told Women’s Health in May 2020.

“And by that, I don’t mean doing drugs and drinking and partying, because I never am,” the British actress continued. “But being goofy, and going out, and not going, ‘Oh, my god, I’m going to sit home and anticipate menopause while crocheting.’ Unless you’re doing that, it somehow seems to be risqué, which is just ridiculous to me.”

In 2017, when an Instagram bully insinuated Beckinsale should be at home with her then-teen daughter, she clapped back by letting them know it wasn’t the 1700s. “I don’t have to stay home … playing the pianoforte, getting consumption or trying to secure her a marriage,” she said. “But thank you for the quaint blast from the past.”

Most often, the Last Days of Disco star is just standing up for her right to live her life the way she sees fit — in the most hilarious way possible.
