You get a trade! You get a trade!
Just moments after the 49ers traded up to the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft in a deal with the Dolphins, giving them the 12th overall pick in return, Miami moved right back up the draft.
The Dolphins sent that No. 12 overall pick, as well as No. 123 and a 2022 first-rounder, to the Eagles in exchange for the No. 6 pick in the 2021 draft, as well as No. 156. Miami moves right back into the top six of this year’s draft.
The Eagles could now hold two 2022 first-rounders and could add a third if Carson Wentz plays either 75 percent of snaps with the Colts, or 70 percent and the team makes the playoffs, per conditions of the trade that sent Wentz to Indianapolis.
The Eagles tried to move up to the No. 3 overall pick, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, but would only do so if they were able to acquire Zach Wilson. Instead, they trade down and load up for the future.
Miami may be after one of the top pass-catching weapons in the draft, which include Alabama WRs Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle, LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase and Florida tight end Kyle Pitts.
