The former Patriots guard is signing a five-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, his agent Mike McCartney wrote on Twitter. The deal is for $80 million, according to multiple reports, the largest deal given out in 2021 free agency as of Monday afternoon.
Thuney is getting $32.5 million in guaranteed money the first two seasons and has a practical guarantee of $48 million over the first three years, according to multiple reports.
Thuney, 28, won two Super Bowl titles with the Patriots, who used the franchise tag on him last year.
The Jets were high on Thuney but were worried about getting into a bidding war for him.
