The Jets reached their first deal of free agency on Monday afternoon, agreeing to a one-year deal with linebacker Jarrad Davis.

Linebacker is a position of need for the Jets as they convert to new coach Robert Saleh’s 4-3 defense after years of playing 3-4 as their base. Davis was a three-year starter in Detroit, but lost his starting job in 2020. He only started four games last year and had 46 tackles and a ½ sack.

Davis’ best season was in 2018 when he had 100 tackles and six sacks.
