Jameson Taillon struggled with his command — walking three — but he tossed 2 ⅔ more shutout innings. He’s now unscored upon — and struck out nine — in 5 ⅔ innings this spring.

Role reversal

While Jay Bruce continues to hit, Derek Dietrich — another lefty-swinger with defensive versatility — continues to struggle. Dietrich started at second base, but went 0-for-2 with a strikeout and is now 1-for-10.
