Brad Pitt spends hours delivering meals to LA housing project

"Brad really did seem like a hero. The man did not stop all day."

Brad Pitt helped those in need by hand-delivering boxes of groceries to low-income families in an LA housing project amid the pandemic last week.

The 56-year-old actor was seen handing out boxes of food to crowds of people in need and spotted driving the delivery truck to transport the goods, according to the Daily Mail.

And because Pitt was rocking a face mask along with a very casual outfit of jeans and a flannel, many people didn’t even recognize they were in the presence of an Oscar winner.

An eyewitness told the website that Pitt was working nonstop to unload and deliver boxes to those waiting in long lines.

“Brad really did seem like a hero. The man did not stop all day. Just seeing him driving a big truck in South Central LA during COVID times was in itself amazing,” the source told the Daily Mail. “He was completely committed, you could see it wasn’t a case of him turning up and showing his face.”

The source added that “his heart was in it and it was just a hats-off moment.”

The “Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood” star reportedly worked for about four hours straight, only stopping for a smoke break and then jumping right in again.

“He was grabbing more boxes than anyone there and then carrying probably six boxes at a time on a cart,” said the source, adding, “It was Brad Pitt like you’ve never seen him, with his guard totally down, laughing, joking, and chatting.”

At one point, he even went into the truck, took out speakers, and blasted upbeat tunes playing from his iPhone. He also got a visit from his friend Thomas Houseago, whom the actor was “clearly elated to see,” the source said.

Pitt also took a coffee break with a brunette volunteer on the back of the truck.

“They sat there probably for 20 minutes laughing and chatting while he had another cigarette and they sipped at their drink,” the source shared.

All in all, the movie star was extremely down-to-earth throughout the whole day, even eating his lunch of scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes out of a to-go container with plastic cutlery.

“There was zero swagger,” the source said, adding, “It wasn’t about glory, you could see he was doing it for self-satisfaction. It really felt like he was in his element.”

This was Pitt’s first public outing since his split from model Nicole Poturalski in October.
