Giants benching Golden Tate after very messy week

The Giants can’t throw Golden Tate “the damn ball” if he’s staying in the doghouse. The wide receiver won’t make the trip to Washington with the Giants on Saturday ahead

The Giants can’t throw Golden Tate “the damn ball” if he’s staying in the doghouse.

The wide receiver won’t make the trip to Washington with the Giants on Saturday ahead of their game Sunday against the Washington Football Team, The Post’s Paul Schwartz confirmed.

Tate had expressed his displeasure in Monday’s loss to the Buccaneers. After his first catch, he screamed at the Giants’ sideline, “Throw me the damn ball!” When he caught a touchdown later in the game, he looked into the camera and yelled, “Throw me the ball!”

The incident led to coach Joe Judge having Tate stay home Wednesday and miss practice. He returned on Thursday, but during Friday’s practice was playing with the scout team.

“We’ll evaluate everything and make decisions on the back end of today of what we’re going to do going through the weekend,” Judge said Friday. “I’m going to discuss a lot of possibilities.”
