Two pit bulls belonging to former NFL star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas attacked a woman and her dog on Thursday, police said.

Jennifer Savage of Georgia required stitches after being bit on her arms and legs, while her dog, Berkley, needed surgery following the alleged attack.

Savage told WSB-TV that she was on her front lawn when the pit bulls charged at her while growling and showing their teeth.

“We tumbled down a hill with the pit bulls and all of a sudden I remember being on top of Berkley, shielding his body from them while they were taking huge chunks out of him,” Savage said.

Police traced the dogs back to Thomas, the 32-year-old free agent who played for the Jets last season and won a Super Bowl with the Broncos in 2016.

Thomas, who was named to five Pro Bowls in 10 seasons, did not respond to WSB-TV’s request for comment.

The case, which has since been referred to animal control for possible charges, remains under investigation, a Fulton county spokesman said.

Thomas started 10 games in 2019, tallying 36 catches for 433 yards and one touchdown. He has earned nearly $80 million during his career.
