Jane Fonda is enjoying a break from Hollywood events.

The “Grace & Frankie” actress, 82, is coping with the coronavirus pandemic by reading, hosting virtual Fire Drill Friday climate change rallies and trying to relax. And though Fonda says “one day looks like the next,” she’s not rushing to get back to the glitz and glam of the red carpet.

When asked if she misses getting dressed up for events, the actress gave an honest answer: “No. I don’t care if I ever do that again. I don’t enjoy it; I never have,” told InStyle. “Last fall, I vowed that I would never buy another article of clothing, and I haven’t.”

Indeed, Fonda pledged in November 2019 that the now-signature red coat she sported at all of her climate protests would be the last piece she ever purchased, in order to encourage recycling, reusing and sustainable shopping. She has since re-worn items from her closet to red carpet events, including at the 2020 Oscars.

While she may not be missing the red carpet, Fonda is eager to get back out into the world when it’s safe to do so again.

“Well, there’s a lot to protest right now, so I can’t wait to be able to protest in person,” she said. “And also to get arrested!”
