There were no stunners in the Giants roster cut-down on Saturday, but there certainly were a few surprises. Here are the top three:

Ryan Connelly

The second-year linebacker was a big favorite of the previous coaching regime, working his way into the starting lineup after only two weeks. Connelly played well but went down in Week 4 with a torn ACL. He seemed to rebound this summer after a slow start but the new coaching staff clearly did not think Connelly was ready to contribute. He could land on the practice squad to allow his knee more time to heal.

Grant Haley

Based on what Haley showed in the summer, this is not a shocker, as the Giants did not need him in the slot, with the addition of Logan Ryan and impressive work of rookie Darnay Holmes. Haley was not as adept working on the outside. Still, he has some experience at a position where there is not much of it.

Alex Bachman

This first-year receiver seemed to catch everything thrown his way and looked as if he was a reliable target working out of the slot. It also looked as if he might be able to contribute as a kick returner. Several young receivers did not make the cut.
