Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris will headline a star-studded virtual fundraiser set up by Hollywood elite, including TV showrunner Ryan Murphy and filmmaker J.J. Abrams, according to a report.
Tickets for the Sept. 3 online event — chaired by Murphy and his husband, David Miller – start at $10,000 per person, with other options of $100,000 for co-hosts and $250,000 for host status.
Those who wish to be considered event chairs can drop $500,000 to go toward the Biden Victory Fund, a joint committee of Joe Biden’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties, Deadline reports.
“We couldn’t be more excited for our friend Senator Kamala Harris to join the Democratic ticket and be our Vice Presidential Nominee,” an invite reads. “In less than twelve weeks, we have the chance to make history and elect Joe Biden as the next President and Senator Harris as the first woman to serve as Vice President.”
The list of event hosts already signed on include Abrams, actress Katie McGrath, film and TV producer Lee Daniels, actress Cait Thompson and TV director Chuck Lorre.
The event’s co-hosts, meanwhile, include actor Don Cheadle, actress Bridgid Coulter and TV producer Michael Rotenberg, among several others.
