Kittle, a two-time Pro Bowler, agreed to a five-year, $75 million extension with the 49ers, according to multiple reports, the largest contract ever given to a tight end. Kittle, 26, is getting $30 million guaranteed at signing and $40 million guaranteed overall, according to ESPN.

The deal surpasses the four-year, $42 million deal Austin Hooper signed with the Cleveland Browns earlier this year, which guaranteed Hooper $18 million at signing.

In 2019, Kittle posted 85 receptions for 1,053 yards with five touchdowns. Since San Francisco drafted him in the fifth round (146th overall) in 2017, Kittle has collected 2,945 yards and 12 touchdowns. He helped lead the 49ers last season to Super Bowl 54, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
