The Jets defense was dealt another blow Saturday when C.J. Mosley decided to opt out of the 2020 season.
Mosley cited family health concerns, according to a source. The NFL is allowing players to opt out of this season because of COVID-19.
One week after trading away Jamal Adams, their best player on defense, they lost their other top player in Mosley. The Jets signed Mosley to a five-year, $85 million deal in 2019. He missed all but two games last year with a groin injury that resulted in core muscle surgery.
The Jets were excited to have Mosley back in the middle of their defense this year. Now, they will have to move on without him.
