Leah Remini praised Thandie Newton after the actress spoke out about being “scared” of Tom Cruise while filming “Mission: Impossible 2.”

“That takes huge balls to do what she did, and if more people speak out in that way, and be brave enough to do so, I think we might get somewhere,” Remini told Daily Beast while promoting her upcoming podcast, “Scientology: Fair Game.”

She added, “Tom has gotten away with being this ‘nice guy,’ because that’s what Scientology policy says—to create good PR in the world and make those ‘good actions’ known. But if you actually look at his actions, they’re not consistent,”

Remini, who left Scientology after 30 years in 2013, went on to claim that she got in trouble when she asked why Cruise, 58, was the “poster child” for the church.

“He can’t keep a f–kin’ marriage together, he’s jumping on couches, he’s acting like he knows anything about postpartum,” she said. “I learned pretty quickly that that’s not something you should be doing, because Tom Cruise is considered a messiah in Scientology.”

She continued, “This is a man who has not even seen his own daughter in years. That this guy can be running around and having people think he’s this super-nice guy, I don’t get it. But that’s the Hollywood-bulls–t game people play.”

Remini, was raised as a scientologist from age 9 after her mother joined the organization. She left after questioning the managing style of the church’s leader David Miscavige.

Two years later she published a memoir “Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.” The “King of Queens” star also had a documentary series on A&E, entitled “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” which delved into former scientologists experiences since leaving the group.

A rep for Cruise did not immediately return our request for comment.
