Jamie Lynn Spears defended the songstress, 38, on social media after an Instagram user made a remark about Britney’s mental health.

Jamie Lynn, 29, first shared a screenshot of a tweet from Halsey, reading: “No jokes right now. I have dedicated my career to offering education and insight about bipolar disorder and I’m so disturbed by what I’m seeing. Personal opinions about someone aside, a manic episode isn’t a joke. If you can’t offer understanding or sympathy, offer your silence.”

She also shared tweets by Nina Parker, Kevin McHale and Maren Morris about mental health in the same post.

Jamie Lynn commented: “If you deal with mental illness or care for someone dealing with mental illness, then you know how important it is to respect the situation with privacy for the person, and the family trying to protect their loved ones, no matter how it may appear to the public, and as the public we must learn to do the same. I pray this doesn’t bring shame to anyone dealing with mental illness, you are not alone, and you are loved. Sending all my love and prayers to all of you♥️.”

Someone then commented: “How about your sisters OBVIOUS mental illness? Why don’t you speak on that? [sic]”

Jamie Lynn quickly shut them down, replying: “you have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters. She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that’s the only thing that is OBVIOUS.”

Fans have been concerned about Britney’s wellbeing as she has been under conservatorship since 2008. Her father, Jamie Spears, oversaw her personal and financial decisions until last September. He stepped down due to his own health reasons.

Her mom, Lynne Spears, filed legal documents last week requesting to be included in all decisions regarding Britney’s conservatorship moving forward.

Britney postponed her Las Vegas residency as her father continued to struggle with a colon condition, before checking into a mental health facility in April 2019.

“Britney was having a hard time dealing with her dad’s health issues. Britney hasn’t been drinking or doing drugs or anything, she just has some very difficult emotional and mental health issues. She’s gone away to try to deal with her issues before they get worse,” a source close to the Spears family told Page Six at the time.

Her care manager Jodi Pais Montgomery is currently serving as her conservator until Aug. 22.
