Johnny Depp‘s lawyers Friday challenged the authenticity of photos showing Amber Heard’s bruised face, in a move to undercut claims the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star hurled a cellphone at her, according to media reports.

Heard snapped the selfies to document red marks on her right eye May 21, 2016, after a violent dust-up with Depp over who had pooped in the couple’s bed a month earlier.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star previously testified at the explosive libel trial in London’s High Court that their marriage went down the toilet after Heard or her friend defecated in their bed as a prank. The actress has denied this.

Depp’s team questioned whether the images had been photoshopped or had been taken on another date, according to Sky News.

Lawyers for The Sun, who Depp is suing for branding him a “wife beater” in a 2018 article, said their expert examined the images’ internal and external metadata and saw no evidence of alteration.

The judge urged the parties to move on with the trial. He said he’d decide Monday whether the issue deserved further analysis.

In earlier testimony Friday, Depp’s longtime friend Isaac Baruch said he saw Heard the day after the vicious fight and saw no marks on her face. He called the photos “phoney baloney.”

Depp has denied he ever abused Heard, claiming she was responsible for all the violence in their marriage.
