J.K. Rowling has good news for locked-down fans looking for a Dobby, er, hobby.

The “Harry Potter” author announced Tuesday that she has finished a new children’s book that she’s been working on sporadically since 2007’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Called “The Ickabog,” the story is not a Potter continuation or spinoff, like “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” or “Quidditch Through the Ages,” but a separate tale Rowling used to read to her kids at bedtime.

“Over time I came to think of [‘The Ickabog’] as just for my family,” she said on Twitter. “The manuscript went up into the attic, where it remained until a few weeks ago.”

The author continued: “Over the last few weeks I’ve done a bit of rewriting and I’ve decided to publish [‘The Ickabog’] for free online, so children on lockdown, or even those back at school during these strange, unsettling times, can read it or have it read to them.”

In typical Rowling style, it ain’t a pamphlet. She says that starting today at 8 p.m. EST, at least one new chapter will be released on a soon-to-be-unveiled website every weekday through July 10. “The Ickabog” will then be published in print and in e-book formats in November.

As for the plot, Rowling is keeping mum. However, the sometimes controversial writer insists present-day politics do not play in.

“‘The Ickabog’ is a story about truth and the abuse of power,” she said on her website. “To forestall one obvious question: the idea came to me well over a decade ago, so it isn’t intended to be read as a response to anything that’s happening in the world right now.”
