Big Blue picked UCLA cornerback Darnay Holmes with the No. 110 pick in the fourth round, a day after taking Alabama safety Xavier McKinney in the second round.

Holmes is on the smaller side, at 5-foot-10 and 195 lbs, and has experience. He started 33 of a possible 35 games for the Bruins, finishing his career with eight interceptions, 17 passes defensed and 120 tackles.

In the least, he will provide much-needed depth at the cornerback position, which is in desperate need of it after getting torched so frequently a year ago. He could see time as the Giants’ nickel cornerback. NFL Network’s Bucky Brooks rated him as the top nickel corner in the draft.
