Knicks interim coach Mike Miller isn’t acting as if the 2019-20 regular season is over.
In a video released on the Knicks’ social-media accounts, Miller said his coaching staff has been connecting with their players to keep them active. Miller also has been scouring tape of his team’s performance. The NBA suspended its season indefinitely March 11.
“We have tried to maintain a routine where we do certain things,’’ Miller said. “Certainly exercise is a part of that every day. Having a chance to touch base with our players, We actually have stayed busy with that. Our staff is in communication daily between all our coaches and our staff.
“We’ve done a good job of making sure throughout the week our players hear from us almost on a daily basis — from the training staff, performance staff and medical staff. They have been very well connected with us making sure everyone is safe.”
The Knicks had 16 games left when the season was stopped following a double-overtime win in Atlanta. Though James Dolan contracted the coronavirus, no Knicks players have been infected. They have mostly scattered across the country to their hometowns.
Frank Ntilikina said last week on a Twitter chat the club is doing group workouts remotely.
“I’ve been watching a lot of videotape of our team,’’ Miller said. “Different phases with offense and defense and situations we’ve been in. We’ve had a chance to evaluate things and take a good look at it.’’
Sources have told The Post a resumption of the regular-season likely would feature just five to seven games.
The Knicks are 21-45 and Miller’s interim record stands at 17-27. Though he’d be a long shot pick to return next season as head coach, there’s a growing belief he will remain in the organization.
The Knicks have not made a player, coach or front-office type available to the media since the shutdown.
