CNN’s Jim Sciutto on leave after ‘serious fall’, internal investigation

According to reports, longtime CNN anchor Jim Sciutto has been instructed to take a 'personal vacation' and will not appear on his morning show for some time.

A media source informed the Daily Mail that Sciutto will be taking a leave of absence from the network following his absence from Tuesday and Wednesday's programs of "CNN Newsroom." On Monday, Sciutto's most recent article was released.

The Daily Beast's Confider claimed earlier this year that Sciutto was the target of an internal CNN probe following a "severe fall" in Amsterdam.

According to the September report, Sciutto was heading home from a reporting trip to Ukraine to cover the Russian incursion when the incident occurred.

"Despite colleagues taking direct flights home from Poland, Sciutto and his producer chose a layover in the Dutch city, where the catastrophe took place. "According to reports, Sciutto has now recovered from the event, but CNN has asked him to address a 'personal matter,'" Confider claimed.

During the months of February, March, and April of this year, Sciutto visited Ukraine.

On May 1st, Sciutto uploaded a picture of Poland, the location from which CNN correspondents were being flown out after reporting the fighting.

CNN has experienced a turbulent year. Chris Cuomo was sacked from the network for reportedly assisting his disgraced brother, Governor Andrew Cuomo, in his scandals. A few weeks later, CNN president Jeff Zucker resigned after having an affair with an executive.

Former president Donald Trump filed a $475 million lawsuit against the media firm on Monday, alleging that the network conducted a "libel and slander campaign" against him.
