Karine Jean-Pierre is a horrible WH press secretary

For White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, things have reached a level of absurdity that borders on comedy. Jean-Pierre is left at the White House podium as her employer, President Biden, rushes around giving operatic and scary speeches in front of blood-red backdrops. Carrying the bag And thus far, things have not gone well.

Take her press conference on Tuesday as an example. Jean-Pierre managed to appear incompetent and helpless not once, not twice, but three times, despite the fact that most reporters were preparing rhetorical golf balls for her.

The first of KJP's baffling responses was to Sen. Ted Cruz's offer to visit the southern border and witness the problem there. Given that only a tiny proportion of the migrants in Texas are rumored to have crippled New York City, Washington, D.C., and now Chicago with their meager busloads, this would seem to be a realistic hypothesis.

However, a self-righteous Jean-Pierre stated, "I have no need for Republican lectures or invites over the border or border policies." After stating she was at the border in 2018 when the Trump administration "ripped babies from their mothers' arms," she made this statement. Dramatic. She had no response. She presented no strategy. Instead, she presented a Dickensian farce, and the border situation continues apace.

When asked during Tuesday's news conference about Russian efforts to weaponize energy, Jean-Pierre referenced Putin's shutdown of the "Nordstrom 1" pipeline. What? Is he severing Germany's access to Louboutin footwear and Hermès scarves? Or is only Nordstrom Rack involved?

When a reporter confronted the press secretary with her previous tweets alleging that former President Donald Trump and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp had stolen their election victories, the real winner in this hat trick of inane responses emerged. Given the current uproar about the semi-fascism of individuals who contest election results, the natural question arose: "If contesting election results is extreme today, why wasn't it before?"

Jean-Pierre initially responded with a chuckle and the statement that she anticipated this inquiry, which is surprising because, if true, one would assume she would have had a reasonable response prepared. Instead, she stated, "Let's be clear, that comparison is completely absurd."

What the what? This is not really clear. It appears that she is implying that when she, Hillary Clinton, or Stacey Abrams claim an election was stolen, this is nothing more than idle chatter. However, when Republicans do it, the American experiment itself is threatened. But that can’t be accurate because it makes no logic. Not that this has ever affected Biden's staff.

Today, everyone could use a good laugh, and the daily White House press conference gives an abundance of them. However, we receive no actual answers. The president has stated, for instance, that "MAGA Republicans" are a dark and dangerous force in America. Is that 70 million individuals or a few political officials? Is it the "MAGA philosophy" as a whole, whatever that is, or just a few people? Nobody knows, and the tale varies daily.

It's bad enough that we have a chief executive who can't speak for two minutes without aggressively shouting, strangely whispering, or going into rambling, pointless old-man anecdotes. Grandpa Joe is meant to be translated by the press secretary, but she may be less comprehensible than he is.

Former press secretary Jen Psaki's relationship with the truth was frequently dubious, but at least when she put words together they formed reasonably coherent sentences. Even for the Biden administration, which is a circus of incompetence, that should not be too much to ask.
