A couple finds a 'freaky' hidden room in their home behind the bathroom wall

You'll have bad dreams in this bed.

Carolyn and Steven Sparks say they are "terrified" after finding a "freaky" secret room hidden behind a wall in their home. The room has a creepy wrought-iron bed frame, which is what made them say they are "terrified."

The British couple just bought a Victorian-era home in Brighton, England. They didn't know there was a room there until they started having contractors do work for renovations.

"It wasn't on the agents' information, and we didn't see it when we looked at the property," Carolyn told Caters in an interview on Friday. "It's easy to miss because you have to go through a small bathroom to get there."

An architect found the hidden door in the small bathroom, and Carolyn grabbed her phone to record the scary find.

The video shows that when the door is opened, it leads to a steep staircase that leads down to the basement, where the secret room is.

In the clip, Carolyn and Steven are scared and carrying flashlights as they walk down the dark stairs. They end up in the small, scary room.

When the owners saw the creepy single bed frame that takes up the whole width of the narrow room, they got chills.

Carolyn said, "I thought it would be funny to film since all we could see were cobwebs." "But we didn't expect to find a single iron bed, so it was definitely a little bit scary!"

Carolyn and Steven later found out that the room wasn't a scary torture chamber, but rather a place where coal was kept during the Victorian era.

No one knows why a bedrame was put in the hidden space, but the couple hasn't taken it out yet. Their daughter even thought about using the room to make a scary movie for school, using the bed as a creepy prop.

Carolyn and Steven will keep the secret room open even after the renovations on their house are done because it gives them access to pipes that run under the property.

Even though what the couple found was scary, it's not that unusual. Several other homeowners have also found secret rooms in their homes.

Carolyn and Steven's daughter even contemplated using the room to shoot a horror movie for school, with the bed serving as a spooky prop for the flick.
