Elizabeth Olsen refused to see a watermarked copy of 'Doctor Strange 2'

'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' has made well over $950 million at the global box office, but co-star Elizabeth Olsen has yet to watch it.

On "The Tonight Show," the actor stated that a cold stopped her from seeing the film at its premiere, and she subsequently declined to see the watermarked screener Disney offered her as a backup because it was too "distracting."

"I'm not one of those [actors who doesn't see her own films]," Olsen explained. "I'm one of those guys that wants to research something in order to figure out how to improve it." But I was sick at the time of the premiere and didn't want to sit through it. So I requested them to send me a copy so I could see it, but it had my name on it and the time I was watching it on it, and I didn't want to watch it that way.

"It had my name on it, as well as the specific time and date," Olsen continued. "It's just annoying."

"The Tonight Show" presenter Jimmy Fallon explained that watermarks are on Marvel screeners "in case you sell it illegally," to which Olsen replied, "How can you even do that?" Who are you sending it to? "How exactly do you record it on a computer?"

Olsen's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is unknown. The destiny of Scarlet Witch was left unresolved at the end of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." The character's Disney+ series, "WandaVision," is receiving an Agatha Harkness spinoff, while whispers of a Scarlet Witch standalone project continue to circulate.

"I'd want to be a part of both," Olsen said on "The View." "No one tells me anything, and I'm not even trying to keep a secret since I'm terrible at it." I have no idea about my future... Continue spreading stories, and perhaps they'll hire me again."

If Olsen wants to view "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" without a watermark, the comic book tentpole is now available on Disney+.
