After 12 years of marriage, Naomi Nelson and Johnny Knoxville file for divorce
After almost 12 years of marriage, 'Jackass' star Johnny Knoxville has filed for a divorce from his second wife, Naomi Nelson.
The stunt performer, who is 51 years old, said that "irreconcilable differences" led to the breakup and that the couple has been apart since September 2021, according to a filing that TMZ got on Thursday.
Knoxville and the documentary filmmaker dated for "a few years" before they announced in August 2009 that they were expecting their first child together.
Knoxville said at the time that he and Nelson "felt it was time to start having children" and that they were "excited as all hell."
"Can't wait for the little booger to show up," he said. "My daughter Madison from my first marriage has already started getting ready to be a big sister. She is helping me choose clothes, strollers, and beds for her new little brother or sister."
Rocko Akira Clapp, the couple's son, was born in December 2009, and they got married in September 2010 in Los Angeles.
Arlo Clapp, who is 10 years old, is their daughter.
TMZ says that Knoxville, whose real name is Philip John Clapp, wants to share legal and physical custody of the kids with his ex-wife.
His last photo of Nelson on Instagram is from August 20, 2021, which is a month before he says they broke up.
“Happy birthday to my love and light. A wonderful wife and a beautiful mother,” Knoxville gushed over photos of Nelson at the time. “You are the sunshine on my face and everything good. I love you very much. Happy birthday.
.”
From 1995 to 2008, Knoxville was married to fashion designer Melanie Lynn Clapp. Madison Clapp, their daughter, was born in 1996.
GAG asked the star's representatives for a comment, but they didn't answer right away.
