Dogecoin and Shiba Inu are now accepted at AMC Theaters

AMC Theatres, an American movie theater chain, has introduced Dogecoin and Shiba Inu to its mobile app's payment options. Many cryptocurrencies are now accepted by the movie studio via BitPay.

With the help of Bitpay, AMC Theaters is now accepting cryptocurrency payments, including Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) (SHIB).

CEO Adam Aron of AMC Theatres made the announcement through Twitter.

People in the US who use AMC's iOS and Android apps can utilize crypto payments to pay for tickets and other services, according to Aron's tweets.

AMC isn't the first institution to accept cryptocurrency.

It's been almost six months since movie theater chain AMC Theatres began accepting cryptocurrency payments as part of its growing acceptance of the digital currency. Movie tickets and other services might be purchased with Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Litecoin (LTC) beginning in November 2021. (LTC).

In March of current year, CEO Adam Aron stated that Dogecoin and Shiba Inu would be accepted by the corporation no later than March 2021. AMC Theatres has finally delivered on its promises, albeit a little late.

Elon Musk helps Dogecoin soar

Dogecoin and Shiba Inu payments are now available on AMC's mobile app for clients in the United States. Not all of the other cryptocurrencies it accepts have been revealed.

Even while the dog tokens have always been popular, Elon Musk's declaration on April 14 that he's interested in purchasing the entire Twitter stock, not just the 9 percent he previously purchased, has boosted demand in the tokens.

The chief executive officer of Robinhood, Vlad Tenev, has argued in favor of Dogecoin's status as the internet's de facto currency. As a result of Robinhood's DOGE send/receive feature, Tenev has been pondering "what that would require."
